Just a day after Paul McGrain was named Young Player of the Month for December another young striker of ours, David Haddow, became Preston North End’s youngest ever goalscorer. Yet another milestone in my short time at the club and another reason to trust youth.
Haddow was not satisfied with just his first senior goal though. After his first goal was cancelled out by an almost unrealistically good freekick by Fleetwood’s Jeff Hughes, he put us back in front on 70 minutes with the decisive goal in a 2-1 win. Fleetwood had won five games in a row before facing Preston.
Unlike McGrain, who was bought from Celtic, Haddow has spent his entire professional career so far at Preston.
